Romanian progressive house DJs to follow
Published · DJ RyN · 3 min read

Romania is known around the world mainly for the minimal house of Rhadoo, Raresh or Petre Inspirescu and for commercial dance hits. But the country also has a serious progressive house scene – the melodic genre built on build-ups and emotional breakdowns. Below are Romanian DJs and producers associated with progressive house who are worth following.
How we built the list: we only included real, publicly verifiable artists. Genres are those given in the DJ Rankings country list (djrankings.org) and in the sources listed at the end. The list is not a ranking of quality.
1. Edward Maya
Probably the best-known international name on the list. Edward Maya reached charts worldwide with “Stereo Love” (2009), with Vika Jigulina, one of the most-played dance tracks of those years. In the DJ Rankings list for Romania he is number 2, with the genre Progressive House.
2. Mr. Pit
Mr. Pit is listed by DJ Rankings under Progressive House and Trance, at number 3 in Romania – a good example of where progressive house meets melodic trance.
3. Play & Win
A producer and DJ trio known for the productions behind several internationally successful Romanian hits, including for INNA. DJ Rankings lists them under Progressive House, at number 4 in Romania.
4. Deepside Deejays
A Romanian project listed by DJ Rankings under Progressive House, at number 7 in Romania – one of the highest-placed names of the genre in the country.
5. Suncatcher
Suncatcher appears in DJ Rankings under Progressive House and Trance (number 10 in Romania) – a pick for listeners who prefer the uplifting sound on the border between the two genres.
6. Pascovski V., Edson Hausman and The Manager
Three producers from Craiova who caught Spinnin’ Records’ attention in 2014: their track “Armed” was selected in the Talent Pool competition and included on Talent Pool EP5. Pascovski V. presents himself as a Progressive House and EDM artist, and the trio went on to release progressive house on Armed Recordings.
7. Bogdan Vix (Snatt & Vix)
Bogdan Vix, one half of the duo Snatt & Vix, is one of the key voices of Romania’s trance and progressive scene. The duo promoted the genres through the TrancENDancE parties and the TrancENDancE ArenA radio show, and Bogdan Vix’s tracks have appeared on Armada Music group labels such as inHarmony and Armind.
8. A few more names to check out
The DJ Rankings list for Romania also includes Cristian-Daniel, Stereopole, Adrian Eftimie and Cosm under Progressive House, while Anhken is listed under Electronica and Progressive House. Look them up on streaming platforms if you want to explore the more underground side of the genre.
9. DJ RyN – a new name to follow
DJ RyN is a Romanian house and progressive house DJ and producer with an emotional, festival-ready sound, active between Romania and Germany (Frankfurt). He is the founder of the RyN Records label, which also released the 12" vinyl “DJ RyN – Festival Collection VOL.1”. On 18 October 2026 he delivered the exclusive edition The Guest Mix #13 on Five FM Romania, and the station described him as an artist who delivers “energetic Progressive House and festival-oriented EDM”. The 5fm.ro live counter showed 42,175 listeners online at the time (details on the achievements page).
For a first impression, listen to BABY (Radio Edit), his latest release, and the Festival Energy Journey guest mix for RadioEX on the music page.
Why the Romanian scene is worth following
Romanian progressive house has two sides: artists who took the melodic sound into international charts, and producers who build a community set by set in clubs and on the radio. If you like music that tells a story – see also our guide What is progressive house? – the list above is a good place to start.
